Howl was the final piece in the commissioning series, and Greg Hettmansberger of Madison Magazine noted, “…no one could have imagined that the last of the six works commissioned for the ensemble might just be the best work of the bunch…

“…[Jalbert’s] music has all the energy and innovation one associates with the best American music of the last fifty years….His new clarinet quintet, Howl, shares some broad similarities in structure and expression with the famous poem of Allen Ginsberg, but for this listener it is more a point of departure for a work that should find its way into the modern repertory.”

Hettmansberger enjoyed the performance and had much more to say.  So click here and read on!
