Spring 2014 has been a whirlwind for Aaron Jay Kernis, with three (!) premieres, A Delaware Symphony AI duPont Composers Award, and induction in the American Classical Music Hall of Fame. His new Viola Concerto premiered on April 24th and the Minneapolis Star Tribune noted, “Aaron Jay Kernis…speaks softly but writes big, passionate, highly lyrical music that makes you sit up and take notice.” And…on June 5, rising-star cellist Joshua Roman performs “Kora’s Song” from Kernis’ new cello concerto Dreamsongs during the League of American Orchestra’s National Conference in Seattle, WA.
