Fain performs the violin music played by historic character Solomon Northrup (portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor) in the Steve McQueen-directed film. &#8220;12 Years a Slave&#8221; reunites Fain with pianist\/composer Nicholas Britell, who wrote and arranged the violin music and spirituals for the film.
