This all-star disc of Kernis works includes the jazzy and nocturnal sounds of the Double Concerto for violin and guitar performed by Cho-Liang Lin and Sharon Isbin with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra conducted by Hugh Wolff; and with the Minnesota Orchestra conducted by David Zinman, one hears Joshua Bell playing Kernis’ famous Air for violin; and Pamela Frank performing the mournful Lament and Prayer written “in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II and the Holocaust.”
