Feb 2025 – On the heels of recent premieres of a new double concerto (with harpist Anneleen Lenaerts) by Kalevi Aho with the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinhald-Pfalz in Germany and Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen in Belgium, and a recording of Christopher Theofanidis’ new concerto for her with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), Marina just gave the exciting world premiere of Swedish-South African composer Tebogo Monnakgotla’s Flute Concerto written for her with Sweden’s Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. Marina has collaborated with Monnakgotla previously, performing her piece Timecraft at the Aspen Music Festival in 2021 and giving the world premiere of It is the Lark that Sings… with pianist Andreas Haefliger on a recital at the Grant Park Music Festival in 2022.
