Josh\u00a0Mailman found an album of his chamber\u00a0music \u201cgenuine\u201d, \u201crich\u201d, and \u201ctasteful\u201d, noting\u00a0his \u201cBartok-infused rhythmic propulsion\u201d and \u201cclashing semitone dissonances\u201d (Gasparo\u00a0361, S\/O 2005: new). I\u2019ll join the ranks in praising\u00a0this new release of works for string quartet,\u00a0string orchestra, and symphony orchestra&#8230;the music is often highly kinetic and rhythmically\u00a0intricate. There is a tonal anchor, but it is\u00a0often disrupted by spiky dissonances.<\/p>\n<p>This is all thrilling, enjoyable music.
